Yesterday Thursday Evening

I walked to the library like I always do, you know, like any other day.
"Hey," I said, just like any other day.
"Hey," you replied, sounding kinda sleepy, just like any other day.
"Hehe," my comeback was the same old, same old.

Even before we got to the museum entrance, I was already rambling about history, mixing my bits of knowledge with some related historical tidbits. You nodded along, sometimes looking a bit bewildered. I kept going.

A couple of guards passed by a few times, making me lose my words for a bit. I felt embarrassed. And scared. What if they thought I was spreading some new fake history and accused me of being a spy spreading propaganda, and then I'd get arrested and thrown in jail and—

Yeah, that's how it goes. We went through the routine of looking at replicas and reading texts next to dioramas. "In that room over there," I said, "we can take some photos and wrap up this tour, then head out." You tightened your grip on my arm and shook your head. I laughed.

Then both of us walked to the bus stop, just like any other day.
"I'm back, okay?" I said, like any other day.
"Don't," you replied, pouting, just like any other day.
"Hehe," my response was the same old, same old.

Just so you know, today's the last day. It's not like any other day anymore. And then there won't be an "us" anymore, won't be able to meet anymore.

You smiled. I left.
